RESORT SKIING
Much of Ischgl’s ski area is hidden away behind the mountains to the south of the town, with the vast panorama only opening up at the end of a long gondola or cable car ride. There are 3 gondolas used to get into the ski area.
The Silvretta gondola, closest to our hotel, takes us to the Idalp area – Ischgl’s main meeting point where you will find the ski school and a range of easier runs suitable for beginners and early intermediate skiers.
Ischgl is situated on the frontier with Switzerland.
Ischgl is interlinked with Samnaun ski resort to create a huge & diverse ski area of over 239km of trails & 45 ski lifts.
Around 20 blue (easy runs), 40 red (intermediate runs) and 25 black (difficult) slopes and descents make the ski resort the perfect winter sports region.
The lift system for the entire area is fast, modern, and up there with the best in Europe.
Ischgl has one of Austria's largest freeride areas, with bowls, steep descents and cliff drops providing plenty for powder hounds to get their teeth stuck into.
One of the best spots to head for is the Piz Val Gronda lift - which has opened up a freeride playground.
Getting a guide will introduce you to all sorts of spots that the ski run map can't. Ischgl is a great resort for intermediate skiers with plenty of wide-open cruising ski runs. There are high alpine bowls and fun runs down through the trees.
There are six valleys to explore and the option to ski over the border to Samnaun in Switzerland. Experts have several black runs and some excellent off-run options. There are racetracks for speed addicts, mogul slopes for slope acrobats and descents with a gradient of more than 70% for those with nerves of steel.
The Silvretta Ski Pass also includes neighboring (but not lift-linked) Galtür, Kappl and See.
ACCOMMODATIONS - THE FOUR-STAR HOTEL SCHLOSSHOF
The hotel lies in the central location of Ischg near the bars, restaurants and stores. It's only a few minutes of walking distance from the Silvretta cableway, which allows guests to SKI-IN STRAIGHT UP TO THE HOTEL.

TRANSPORTATION
We will fly United from Houston IAH routing through Chicago to Munich. We will depart 2:20 pm on Fri, Jan 20 and arrive in Munich 9:45 am Sat, Jan 21. We will take a 3.5 hour charter bus ride from airport to the hotel. It should be beautiful scenery along the way.

NON-SKI DAYS & NON-SKIERS
Off the slopes, visitors to Ischgl will love its pedestrian centre and its exceptional après ski. Busy both night and day, visitors will love the fantastic range of shops as much as the restaurants and bars. Whether its ice skating or snow shoe hikes, tobogganing or winter hiking trails, there’s something for everyone to experience. For the non-skiers we have many options for day trips (2) and excursions (additional cost for tours):
