Prepare for a fascinating day of aviation history, a hands-on experience and a waterfront lunch!
Our destination is the renowned Lone Star Flight Museum at Ellington Field — home to more than 24 historically significant aircraft and an impressive collection of artifacts celebrating the history and heritage of flight.
Dedicated to preserving aviation history, the museum restores and maintains aircraft representing the evolution of flying machines while highlighting the important contributions Texas and Texans have made to aviation. The museum also features the prestigious Texas Aviation Hall of Fame and an extraordinary flying collection of historic aircraft.
Our visit will include a guided, docent-led tour, offering insight into the museum’s remarkable exhibits and aviation treasures.
As a special treat, we’ll enjoy the Crosswinds & Coffee Experience — featuring a hands-on flight simulator session paired with fresh hot coffee service!
After our museum adventure, we’ll make our way to Topwater Grill in San Leon for a relaxing late lunch on the water (lunch on your own), complete with beautiful views and coastal charm.

Details:
$16.50/person ($18.50 for non-members) which includes the admission, tour and flight simulator with coffee. There will be snacks and water on the bus. No charge for the bus. Lunch is on your own.
Refund Policy: Per the Standing Rules, a $10.00 cancellation fee will be charged for all events over $10.00. A potential caveat is if the cancellation is at the last minute where tickets have been purchased and we are unable to fill your spot, we may not be able to refund you.

FYI—there are no restrooms on the bus.
Please arrive at Memorial City Mall no later than 9:15. The bus location address is 12161 Barryknoll Lane,--look for the triangular parking lot.
DIRECTIONS FROM GESSNER:
Turn on Barryknoll from Gessner. Go just a little way down, and right past Planation on your right, there is a triangular parking lot. That is where we will meet. It’s almost directly across Barryknoll from the Cinemark Theater in the mall. If you get to the apartments on your right, you’ve gone too far.
