Day 1: Arrival, breakfast in Keflavik, transfer to the Blue Lagoon and to Reykjavik. Dinner at the hotel.

Departing Houston August 21st on Delta, we arrive in Iceland the morning of August 22nd. After breakfast in Keflavik, we'll drive to the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland’s most popular attractions. We’ll have 1-1/2 hours to enjoy a refreshing bath or a swim in the inviting, rejuvenating and warm mineral-rich water. Be sure and pack a swimsuit in your carry on! Tonight is our Welcome TSC dinner at the Fooshotel.

Day 2:  Reykjavik city tour with guide (Breakfast)

Our guide will take us past Hallgrimskirkja Church as well the Nordic house and National Museum. You’ll have outstanding photo opportunities with a panoramic view over Reykjavik, the fjord and mountains. Evening is at your leisure at the many restaurants nearby. You may wish to go on an optional whale watching excursion in the afternoon.

Day 3:  Reykjavik – Husavik  (Breakfast and Dinner)  

After breakfast, we leave Reykjavik and head to our next destination—the city of Husavik. This is our base for the next two nights in the Fooshotel. We’ll visit Iceland’s most powerful hot spring and climb the Grabrok volcano crater in west Iceland.  Dinner is at the hotel. 

Day 4:  Husavik  (Breakfast and Dinner).  

We will explore Gothafoss, the waterfall of the Gods, and continue to Lake Myvatn, known for its rich bird life and extraordinary volcanic lava landscapes. You may wish to go on an optional whale watching excursion in the afternoon. Dinner is at the hotel.

 Day 5:  Husavik – Reykjavik  (Breakfast) 

Leaving Husavik, we will travel west over the mountains to the valley of the horses and home to many ancient villages. On the way, we’ll stop for coffee and cake at a horse farm. Evening is at your leisure. 

Day 6:  Reykjavik - Golden Circle day tour (Breakfast).

Over a scenic route, we reach Thingvellir National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stroll around the country’s most sacred site, home of the oldest existing parliament in the world, the Albingl. Next we explore the valley of Huakadalur that is home to the geyser Strokkur which erupts at about 5 – 7 minute intervals. Evening is at your leisure.

Day 7:  South shore of Iceland – Reykjavik  (Breakfast and Dinner) 

Our route passes through some of the prettiest countryside in Iceland with field, farms and villages toward the glaciers in south Iceland. The impressive Skogafoss waterfall is more than 197 feet high. After a lunch break, we reach the volcanic black sandy beach of Reynisfjara that is famous for its bird species, especially puffins. The TSC Farewell dinner will be held at the hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 8:  Departure transfer (Breakfast) Unfortunately, today, August 29, we depart Iceland and will be taken to the airport for our return flight back to the USA or on to the post trip to Bergen, Norway. 

BERGEN, NORWAY   August 29- September 2, 2017         

Via Icelandic Airlines, we fly to Bergen, Norway, a city on Norway’s southwestern coast. Included is a half day city tour of Bergen exploring the charming streets with vibrant wooden houses, cultural and historical buildings. An optional ride on the Floybanen funicular to the top of Mount Floyen is a must. Accommodations for 4 nights are at the Hotel Admiral located in the center of Bergen.

An optional tour via a spectacular train which will stop at Kjosfossen, a waterfall with a 738 ft. drop is available. We’ll continue on a boat to view the amazing fjords and picturesque villages. Our return to Bergen is via a tour bus which will climb through the hairpin turns on Stalheimskleiva.  Departure from Bergen will be September 2nd to Amsterdam then back to the U.S. .

Visit Times Square, Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, Broadway shows, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Central Park, One World Trade Center---and that barely scratches the surface! Check out what’s playing on Broadway and make your reservations as soon as possible.   The hotel selected is the Millennium Broadway which is within a few blocks from Times Square. We will leave NYC on the 21st for our flight to Iceland.
